I am talking about games. A lot! But not just games. I love movies and music too, and if you follow us, or visit us on our live broadcast feed you can be sure I will chat away to you and chew the fat on a variety of things. I played both, contemporary and retro games, but if you’re from a time where 8-bit and 16-bit video gaming hold a dear place in your heart, you’re most definitely in the right place.
My journey through gaming started at 14 when I bought the Warhammer 40,000 2nd edition boxed set from Argos. As soon as I lifted the lid and inhaled that ‘new game’ smell, I was hooked.
My gaming back in my teenage years was dominated by the products of Games Workshop. I got into every game that came out, my favourites being 40K and Necromania. I attended official tournaments, had articles published in Games Workshop’s magazines and ran games at Games Workshop’s national events. I also helped run one of the most popular fan sites, Portent. I was in deep.
As I’ve grown older, my gaming interests have widened. Over the past decade, my local games club has moved onto other wargames, such as War Machine and The Uncharted Seas, We also play a variety of board, card and roleplaying games more regularly now too.
These days, I don’t have the space or patience for large-scale wargames. Instead, I prefer painting individual models and scenery, getting involved in roleplaying games and what some of my friends call ‘fun games’ – light-hearted board and card games, such as Munchkin.
You’ll also work out from this blog that I’m a bit of a technology addict too. It’s part of what I do for a living, so all of my electronic toys are justified, right? … right?
At this place, we are talking about many old and new video games. You can get a lot of information by visiting my blog homepage.
